A new year always brings a fresh start. I love this time of year!! I look forward to all of the possibilities, goals, and projects that a new year brings!

It’s an exciting opportunity to plan and implement new strategies, or improve existing ones.

Are you thinking about your business goals for the New Year? What's the most effective way to do this?

In this week's Facebook Live, I'm sharing my 6-step process that my team and I are using to prepare for the coming year. These are strategies we're using to set ourselves up for success and tips you can implement too!

My 6-Step Process for Success

1. Reflect Back on 2017 (1:05)

Take some time to think about how this past year went for you. Ask yourself these questions:

  • What worked?
  • What didn’t?
  • What goals did you meet?
  • Where did you fall short?

It's important to analyze these outcomes, but make sure to give yourself credit for all that you did accomplish in the previous year! Appreciate your challenges and your growth in both your personal and professional life.

2. Plan Ahead for Big Projects (4:09)

What would your business look like at the end of 2018 if you didn’t have anything holding you back, like fear, lack of time, money, or resources?

Now’s the time to think big when you are setting goals!

Don’t be afraid to plan for those scary, audacious targets and use them as fuel to help you step up to the level that you need in your business to accomplish them.

This may mean pushing yourself out of your comfort zone a bit, so it helps to share your intentions with people that you trust and will support you as you continue to move ahead!

3. Set Specific Timelines (9:33)

Now that you have determined what those larger projects are going to be, create a timeline with deadlines for each milestone along the way. Think backwards from the endpoint and see what you need to do now to fully accomplish that goal.

For example, my team and I break the year up into quarters. We set attainable goals within each of those timeframes in order to meet my big annual revenue goal, including planning any investments that need to be made to meet them.

4. Look At Your Travel Plans (14:31)

Do you have plans to attend any business conferences or take any family vacations next year? Be sure to incorporate them into your calendar so that you can plan your projects around your travel.

(If you're anything like me, getting out of town can feel like a project in itself! 🤣)

Include setting up systems and processes for your team when you are out of the office so that nothing falls through the cracks.

5. Verify the Resources You Need (16:41)

Planning for a new year includes assessing what tools and resources you may need to advance your business. Here are some things that you might want to consider:

  • Who do you need to hire on your team to support you?
  • What software do you need to acquire?
  • What courses and/or coaches should you invest in?

Take time to research what products and people will benefit your business the most as you move it in the direction you want it to go.

6. Plan for Business Shifts (18:13)

As your business grows, your business model may evolve and change too! When I started my business, I was solely doing Facebook ads coaching on a private basis. While I love to help my clients achieve their business goals, I wanted to scale and help more people be successful with Facebook ads at a more cost-effective price.

My course Flourish with Facebook Ads has allowed me to do just that!

So for the coming year, I am shifting the focus onto improving my course, pulling back on my private coaching, and working with fewer new clients. This means strategically building my sales funnel to introduce my course to more people and streamlining the processes behind my “Done For You” Facebook Ads services.

Make yourself ready for strategic changes in your business by thinking through all of the different moving parts and ways you can take it to the next level.

Summary

Here’s to finishing this year out strong, setting yourself up for success, and figuring out what you want to get out of the New Year! ✨
